Nyikina Mangala native title determination

On 29 May 2014, ASF Chair Min Yang attended a traditional ceremony held by members of the Nyikina Mangala tribe. This occasion marked a significant milestone in recognising and celebrating the return of traditional lands along the lower Fitzroy River to the First Peoples.
Large swathes of pastoral land have been returned to the Nyikina Mangala for cultivation since the native title claim was determined in favour of the traditional owners by the Federal Court of Australia. Yang highlighted the significant potential and opportunity for the Nyikina Mangala in linking local beef supply with the Asia-Pacific consumer market.
ASF Group has always and will remain committed to engaging with Traditional Owners and stakeholders to ensure that the heritage and history of the First Peoples are respected and preserved. Furthermore, we remain committed to offering First Peoples opportunities for community development and improving socioeconomic outcomes through collaborative means.
