The Peninsula Hope Island Launch

On March 3, 2016, the official lauch ceremony marking the commencement of the construction of The Peninsula Hope Island development was held. The Peninsula Hope Island is the last waterfront development to be released in the exclusive Hope Island Resort (HIR). Developed by ASF, it marks the completion of HIR – an integrated resort development htat was envisioned in 1987 and evolved into 5000 residences, a golf course, tennis academy, a marina and more. This is the last piece of the puzzle and marks an important milestone in the development of HIR. Likewise, the project highlights ASF’s commitment to conributing to the Gold Coast’s community by providing more economic opportunities to locals.

ASF Chairman Min Yang kicked off the event by highlighting that “The Peninsula is the missing link that bridges the whole Hope Island Resort community together”. She noted that the project “occupies a prime position that a large volune of existing residents and visitors pass through, so it is vital to ensure that site planning, landscaping and design is to an exemplary standard and synonymous with the exclusivity of the Hope Island Resort lifestyle”.

Following on from Yang’s speech, HIR Principal Body Corporate Chairman Geoff Smithwick remarked that the area that The Peninsula is situated upon “has been vacant and virtually a wasteland for over 10 years”. He added that the “community is excited to see a comparable high-quality development being provided for the site, and judging by the works already completed it is going to be one of the jewels in the Hope Island Resort crown”.

The launch ceremony was attended by His Worship the Mayor CR Tom Tate and Gold Coast City Councillor (for Division 3) Cameron Caldwell, with the former noting in his speech that “ASF’s The Peninsula is an innovative and progressivre development [that closes] out the final chapter of Hope Island Resort. [It] is quintessentially Gold Coast, enhancing our enviable lifestyle”.
